Golden color with a nice pillowy head. Aroma has a nice crisp citrus essence mixed with freshly-baked bread. Flavor has a bit of tart citra-sweetness with some pleasant bready malts, fresh honey, and enough hops to remind you that this aint no weak ass lager. Nice brew - really makes you think of a warm spring day. Butters (1653), Virginia, USA

Smells of malt and caramel and honey. Flavor of alcohol and orange rind. Medium full body, low carbonation. Light bitter finish. Not bad. Syrupy sweet with honey. Good for the style I suppose, but not my favorite. NachlamSie (1652), Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 26, 2008 bomber of 2007 vintage. Pours a cloudy orange with a decent white head. The nose is malty heavy and slightly resinous with hints of toast, toffee, cherries, and just a pinch of sharp hops. Mouthfeel is moderately dense and pleasingly coating. I find a few similarities here to a barleywine. Something about the sweet, brown sugar flavor and vinous qualities. . .Modest suggestions at a German lager are made and intertwine oddly well with the fruity, dense malt character. Very, very nice interpretation of this style. TURDFERGUSON (1606), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 7, 2007 Bottle purchased at State Line Liquors in MD, shared with Taylor. Pours a light orange with a small white head. Nose is banana, bubblegum and honey. Flavor is much the same--very sweet with lots of honey and banana bubblegum flavors. Hops hardly noticed. Alcohol noticed, but for the most part well hidden as this as very smooth and light mouthfeel. Pretty good, but a little too sweet at times. hellbilly (1566), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA

hazy burnt orange color with a huge off white head. it is cavernous, wispy and leaves behind lots of splotchy lacing.
this smells quite sweet and grainy... notes of honey, cooked barley, orange, mint/eucalyptus and vanilla as it sits.
the palate is on the sweet side and becomes a bit tiresome as time goes on... seems to lack balance. there’s plenty of yeasty richness along with flavors of grain, vanilla, orange, dry grass and a light spiciness on the finish.
the medium body leaves a sugar coating on the teeth. it seems to fall flat on the tongue as it warms....
i’m going to guess that this is really well balanced and tasty... when it is fresh. 7/4/6/3/15/3.5 LilBeerDoctor (1530), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 19, 2008 Bottle. Pours a light amber with small white head. Aroma and flavor strongly of floral and citrus hops, also some spices and molasses. This reminded me of an american pale ale, actually. I thought the hops and malt flavors blended really well together. An excellent beer! yobdoog (1523), Woodridge NY, New York, USA

Sweetness, some honey and light bitterness. Flavor has a bit of alcohol and hops with some mellow spice and pepper with the caramel finish.
