Commercial Description:
Maibocks are a traditional Teutonic seasonal specialty. We brew ours to be hugely malty and subtly finished with a variety of continental hops, with an eye-pleasing russet brown color.

22 oz bomber. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a medium sized white head. Aroma of honey, light wheat and malt. Taste of honey malt with a bit of wheat.

Bottle. Aroma gives off spices at first, hops come into play with the spices and put me in a meadow, and then the meadow starts to grow some apricots. Flavor similar, spices and hops/spicy hops, caramel malt shows through more. Doesn’t have me jumping out of my seat, but I can’t find a single thing wrong with it either.

22 oz. bottle - pours dark orange and clear; white head lingers; mild carbonation; musky aromas of caramel, orange peels, dank fruit; drinks dry with fruity finish; pretty tasty

No hops taste and very little carbonation, but still seemed very ’chewey’. Lots of malt character. I agree with their slogan: ’Make mine a Smutty!’

On tap at Barcade: A malty, pretty sweet Maibock. Not overally hopped, but more hops than I expected from the style. Pretty well-balanced. The body color is medium amber, with a small white head. Some citrus and honey in the flavor make it quite pleasant. Refreshing and clean.

22 oz bottle. Dark golden color. Large white head. Aroma is sweet with lemons and some sugar. Flavor is also sweet, with a nice hit of citrus flavor in the finish. Over all I think this beer was pretty decent.

Draught sample at the Portsmouth restaurant. Not really my area of expertise or even experience. Aroma and flavour seemed buttery and I swear I tasted watermelon in the finish. Not my typical style so not much to say other than it was easy drinking.

Slightly hazy, amber/orange appearance with a medium size, off white head and good lacing. Sweet, caramel malt aroma accented with soft fruits. Pleasing, toffeeish taste, sweet, fruity, malty, mildly herbal, with a low keyed hop presence. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a decent amount of carbonation. Long lasting, honeyed finish.
