Jul 15, 2007 (22 oz bottle (2007) from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maryland/baltim target=blank>Wells Discount Liquors) Good but deviates from style with lots of hops...Pours lightly brownish gold, cloudy. Four fingers of foamy white head. Aroma of caramel, honey, pine, vanilla, bread and hay. More pine than normal (for a heller bock). Mouthfeel quite full, smooth, even a little sticky. Big patches and rings of foamy lacing. Flavor of pine over caramel but I think the pine wins. Almost big IPA-like. Not that it’s tons of hops but I think the malt takes a back seat when a great bock should be richly malty. The flavor also has notes of honey, hay and vanilla and is a little hot esp. in finish. Has a big beer feel and I enjoyed it even if I’m not sure about it being a really good bock.

Jun 7, 2008 Mostly clear dark golden color with a thin even loose white head. Slight spicy and herbal grainy aroma with a touch of earthy hop character. Light taste over a thickish palate. Tastes a bit spicy with a light pine hoppiness informing the finish. Grainy malts carry everything well. A refreshing bock.

Jul 10, 2009 Neutral gold color with the slightest of haze. Long lasting head that leaves good spotty lace.
Malty with a notable level of alcohol warmth in the smell.
Strong alcohol flavor--lots of oily liquor; very warm to the throat. Lots of lighter malt flavor with nearly no hop bitterness. This is a dry bock. Excellent body; truly perfect for the style.

Apr 7, 2008 Pours bright gold into a shaker. Bright white head quickly recedes to skim surface leaving no lacing. Sweet malt aromas. Crisp caramel upfront with a lasting hop and alcohol finish.

Jul 13, 2009 Bottle. Pours a golden body with a white head. Sweet bread y candy sweetness, a hint of cherry honey and caramel. My favorite Maibock at one time.

Nov 16, 2008 Bomber from Phhd. Thanks Ethan. Shared first beer of election night. Pours light orange with a bright white head. Nose is sweet and malty. Taste is sweet malty and biscuitty. Taste and drinkable.

May 23, 2009 Bottle courtesy of hellbilly. Pours a cloudy orange color with a few chunks and a chunky head. Aroma of grain, light sweet malt, and grassy and citrus hops. Flavor of malt, earth yeast and a good hoppy finish. Wow, I really enjoyed this brew. Thanks Josh!
