Commercial Description:
Maibocks are a traditional Teutonic seasonal specialty. We brew ours to be hugely malty and subtly finished with a variety of continental hops, with an eye-pleasing russet brown color.

It pours with a foamy head and a clear dark orange body. Slightly sweet, with a nice aftertaste. Heavy malt character without a lot of hops.

2008 Flour City Brew Fest. Amber pour with a huge white head, big malt aroma. Malty flavor with a proper amount of hops to balance it out, almost dry finish. A little thin on the mouth feel, but other wise great.

The beer pours with a deep bronze color and a sandy off-white head color. Has a big malty sweet nose and a touch of alcohol in the aroma as well. The malt has an aroma of a chocolate milkshake. Very smooth, full, chewy and alightly bitter mouthfeel. Slightly sharp alcohol tinge on the back of the throat. A wonderful Maibock, make mine a Smutty!

Big aroma of apricots, prunes and candied sweet potatoes. Color is a deep russet. Little head that leave quickley and leaves litle white floaters. Taste is big sweet malts and dried fruits. A little to sweet in the back of the throat on the finnish.

Nice unfiltered/bottle conditioned lager. The beer is hazy and very malty, but not overly sweet. The hops are there just enough to balance out the malt. Well done and clean tasting.

Appearance: Pours a cheery-looking orange body with a small, white head. Smell: An aroma filled with honey and spice and everything nice (i.e., dough and lemon). Taste: Light, sweetish caramel flavor with notes of bee-fresh honey and citrus fruits. Noticeable doughiness. Hop flavor and bitterness remain quite light. Wraps up with a very drying finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-body. Medium carbonation. Somewhat sticky mouthfeel. Drinkability: Works for me! A pretty good maibock.

Bottle. Hazy cloudy gold color with medium sized fizzy head. Aroma of sweet malt, light caramel, bisquet dough, and hops. The taste was the same but rich, big, and chewy. Sweet and too thick so refreash you on a nice spring day, but enjoyable never the less.

Tap at Mugs Ale House: Pours an orange/golden with a small but strong white head. Decent aroma of soft German malts, a hint of citrus and a subtle hop note. Creamy body with a solid malt bite. Has a very light honey sweetness along with balancing herbal hop hints and a grainy character. A solid Bock.
