Commercial Description:
Maibocks are a traditional Teutonic seasonal specialty. We brew ours to be hugely malty and subtly finished with a variety of continental hops, with an eye-pleasing russet brown color.

Light amber pour with fluffy off-white head. Leave a decent lace behind. Toasty/nutty aroma. Caramel malts, grain, and some fruit

an interesting blend of yeast, hops and malt. the yeast is not overpowering and works well with the grassy hops. it has a very slight bitter but the malt smooths that over. a well rounded and unique flavor. pours translucent copper with white head. definitely worth tasting.

(From 8-3-08 sampling- thanks to whoever brought it!) Hazy orange in appearance, medium carbonation, aroma of oranges, bread, and musk. Hits the mouth with a medium body, malt seemed to be very slightly toasted, some mild sweetness in the middle, finish that lingers with a slight hop note. Good stuff maynard!

Pours hazy dark golden color with white head. Aromas of bread dough and caramel. Moderately sweet caramel flavor with bready malts. Alcohol is slightly noticeable. Medium body with average carbonation.

This beer presents a sweet nutty/malty nose. A full bodied beer with a decent balance of chocolate malt and finishing hops. A pleasant beer that will make you feel warm. Cheers!

No hops taste and very little carbonation, but still seemed very ’chewey’. Lots of malt character. I agree with their slogan: ’Make mine a Smutty!’

Pours clear orange with a small off-white head. The aroma has lightly toasted malt, doughiness, esters and medicinal licorice like notes. Medium / full somewhat slick body with lots of gentle carbonation. The flavor begins with lightly toasted doughy malt, spicy hops and peppery notes. the finish is very hoppy for the style with spicy and earth traits and some dirtiness and and abv heat. A nice and interesting take on the style. I’d love to try this a bit fresher.

Pretty good beer. Nice inbetween winter and spring beer. Very malty, and rich. Slight hops flavor in the finish to balance it out. Decent palate, nice color.
