The aroma has lightly toasted malt, doughiness, esters and medicinal licorice like notes. Medium / full somewhat slick body with lots of gentle carbonation. The flavor begins with lightly toasted doughy malt, spicy hops and peppery notes. the finish is very hoppy for the style with spicy and earth traits and some dirtiness and and abv heat. A nice and interesting take on the style. I’d love to try this a bit fresher. Gregory (357), Pullman, Washington, USA

Slight hops flavor in the finish to balance it out. Decent palate, nice color. jgb9348 (2500), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 11, 2007 Crystal clear coloured golden body with a thinnish white head. Aroma of fresh malt, strong fresh hops and a potent lemony scent - even though this is a bit aged, it still smells fresh! Medium-bodied; Strong malty flavour with toffee and caramel notes following behind. Aftertaste shows a nice hoppy kick tucked into a astringent finish. Overall, a very nice and refreshing beer altogether! Definitely worth trying if you can find it anywhere! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 11-December-2007. CapFlu (3483), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 29, 2004 (22oz bottle) Pours a large, yellowish foamy head and an orange body. Light carbonation with small bubbles. Nose of lemon, sweet malt, slight tin and mild hops. Palate is very full and complex. Mountainous-cloud of flavour leaves you flying on a glider, very malty and creamy. Tart finish brings us in for a landing. I’ll definitely seek this out again! | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 22, 2007 The highest rated maibock not retired apparently. Pours clear copper color and one finger of head. Aroma is honey, nutsm and a little nail polish remover. Flavor is surprisingly bitter. A bit of grape juice, honey, and a little spice. quite sweet. finishes with a hint of alcohol. perhaps one of the better bocks but not a very strong category in my opinion. prickly carbonation. ontario102 (794), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 17, 2004 Botte: Tart and somewhat hoppy (grassy, citric) for a bock; not overly smooth, and certainly not very flavorful for a big brew. Tingling alcoholic bite, though. Grandpa (325), Verona, New York, USA
