May 13, 2007 22 oz bottle 2007 .. deep golden pour thin white head ,good lacing. sweet aroma of lemon , lavender and bananas . sweet , bready caramel malt flavors . slight spicy hop up front that turns sweet and doughy . very refreshing , smooth , medium bodied mouthfeel. sorta like a super saison . good stuff .

Jul 17, 2007 22 oz bottle split two ways. Hazy amber in color with a medium off white head. Aroma was not quite what I expected- a good dose of caramel, but with some citrus hops, orange, grapefruit. Taste is big, smooth and malty with some citrus, floral, and a light pine hop bitterness. perfectly balanced, doesn’t seem made to style with the hop profile, but this is a great american style-may bock.

Jun 22, 2008 Pours a hazy copper amber with a creamy orangeish two finger head. Lively carbonation. The nose is nice and hoppy, sweet, earthy, malty, caramel, lagering shows in the nose. The flavor has a nice hop bite to it, a little citrusy, earthy, malty, sweet, caramel. Nice biting palate with a refreshing carbonation. Easily the best maibock I’ve ever had.

Jun 30, 2007 22 oz. I bought a few weeks ago (also just got one as a bonus from bmartin08 - thanks!!) Golden color with a nice pillowy head. Aroma has a nice crisp citrus essence mixed with freshly-baked bread. Flavor has a bit of tart citra-sweetness with some pleasant bready malts, fresh honey, and enough hops to remind you that this aint no weak ass lager. Nice brew - really makes you think of a warm spring day.

May 4, 2009 Nice haze orange in color. With a nice fluffy head on top that doesn’t fade away quickly. Looks VERY good. A not so pungent sweet malt aroma. Sugary aroma. Haven’t seen this in a heller bock before. If it was more pungent I would have given it a higher score. Nice sweet sugary taste. Nice bitter hop at the end that doesn’t last long but makes an impression. A very good beer indeed! Awesome flavor. Biggest thing about this beeer is the sweet flavor. Slight yeast flavor added in to compliment the sweet sugar flavor. Cheers!

Jun 28, 2008 Bottle (2008). Pours deep orange/gold with a huge peach colored head. Aroma is clean sweet malt with honey and caramel dominating, accompanied by bready and earthy notes. The body is smooth. Flavor is sweet malt, again, honey, caramel, and bread. Also has a light yeasty, earthy, and even fruity side to it. I get a bit of peach and citrus. Very nice.

May 31, 2009 From the 22oz "big beer" series, this one poured a hazy orange with a nice thick white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, hops, malt and some caramel. Taste was a refreshing hoppy, citrusy, floral combination that pleasantly suprised me. Carbonation was just right without being too much. Nice beer.
