Reddish brown pour. last beer of the keg.
Nose was vanilla and woody sweet malt. Some bourbon but not overpowering. Mouthfeel is overwhelmingly awesome. Creamy and smooth, the aging has done this beer good. Rich sweet flavor with some definite woodiness and great vanilla. Whiskey booziness rounds this out. Warming and delicious. yobdoog (1426), Woodridge NY, New York, USA May 2, 2009 This was really good. Sweet and delicious. Heavy and rich and not easy to drink a lot of but it is a great sipper. Lots of complexity in this one. Some wood and alcohol present. JohnQPublic (387), Brooklyn, New York, USA Nov 20, 2008 Draught, ’05 vintage, @ BTAH VSK. Pours cloudy red-brown, with a nose of vanilla, oak, sweet malt - nose is bourbon-y without being quite as up front as some other whiskey aged beers. Flavor back up the nose - big and rich, very port like, with a finish that gets a nice balancing off-dryness from the whiskey and alcohol. Alcohol itself is fairly well hidden. Mouthfeel is big and syrupy. rocbyter (902), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Jun 15, 2008 On tap at blind tiger. Nice strange malt oak aroma. Dark and cloudy with no head. Vanilla taste with a malt finish. Creamy palate in the beginning. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jun 14, 2008 on tap @Blind Tiger-pours a white ring for a head and cloudy yellow/orange color. Aroma is sweet medium malt, medium fruit, some alcohol. Taste is sweet medium malt, medium fruit, some alcohol, slight syrupy.
JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jun 14, 2008 Tap at Blind Tiger. Deep amber-brown beer. Thin white head. Aroma is quite nice. Sweet rich caramelly malts, vanilla and toffee with lots of soft oakiness. It’s got a nice balance of rich sweet malts, sweet bourbon. Chewy and toffeeish with good integration of the oak and the beer itself. Nice PNW hops that are a bit faded but still make their presence known. Very tasty.
