May 2, 2009 Tap at BT. Aroma and taste is almost all oak. Light thin body with some honey sweetness. Not too much alcohol. This was mostly oak for me. Very light bourbon and vanilla.

Jun 16, 2008 Tap at Blind Tier. Hot, vegetal, sucrose aroma. Light bourbon, good complexity. Super hot flavor, unbelievably hard to drink, this beer just fights against your mouth. Still retains its bock flavors with some 50% bourbon overwhelming it.

Jun 15, 2008 On tap at BT. Hazy orange yellow in color with a little white head. Malty caramel oaky aroma. Vanilla earthy notes. Vanilla malty caramel doughy flavor. Oak notes. Bitter finish. Medium bodied. Decent. Very drinkable.

Jun 14, 2008 on tap @Blind Tiger-pours a retaining thin off white head and hazy gold color. Aroma is Jack Daniels, secondary medium malt-caramel. Taste is sweet Jack Daniels, secondary medium malt-caramel, alcohol. Sipping. With oaking almost a barleywine with slick mouth feel.

Jun 14, 2008 Tap at Blind Tiger. Hazy orange-yellow beer with a white head. Aroma is quite caramelly. A very soft oaky vanilla character. Lots of bourbon, vanilla and sweet woodiness. There is also a light apricot fruitiness. It’s slightly peppery and a little bit chewy. I quite like it, although I can see how other people might not.

Jun 12, 2008 Tap at blind tiger. Pours a nice chill hazed light orangey gold with a ncie tight white head. Aroma hits you strong with a ton of oak, vanilla, butter- similar to an over-oaked chard- light earthiness and doughy toasted malts and fresh baked bread. Flavor is also just a mouthful of oak and vanilla, sweet doughy light malts, vienna, lkgith munich adn pilsner doughiness with a medium bitter finish.

Nov 29, 2007 Tap at Barcade: Pours orange with a white thin ring for head. Straight forward aroma. Mainly a piney oak character, but it’s presence is perfect. Very silky & creamy mouth feel. Solid oakiness all throughout without being overpowering. Woody and mildly piney upfront, followed by a bourbon-ish oak middle and a soft, subtle sweet malt touch toward the finish. A solid and very balanced Oakey Bock beer.
