This octoberfest is, of course, malty. Full, well rounded body, light hoppiness, very well done beer. One of my favorite octoberfests. Volgon (2489), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 30, 2002 22OZ bottle, fresh off the shelf 2002: This is the best Oktoberfest I’ve had all year. Sweet malty nose with a patter of smokey spice, smooth as silk, clear orange color. Finishes so clean you’d swear you were in Germany. +0.4 from last time. Old rating: I enjoyed this more than the Pete’s Octoberfest. The aftertaste took a bit away from it. DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 17, 2002 Sweet candied malt aroma, ruby colour, tiny vanilla head. Robust, candied malt and raisins flavour. Some bitterness, sweet, full bodied. Fair. vwsteggie (684), Paxton, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 13, 2002 Has a nice amber color and a malty smell to it. The malt conitnues in to the taste and finishes with a mild bitterness. Overall I did not like this beer too much. It didn’t have much flavor to me. Maybe I got a bad bottle... canary dog (443), Rutland, Vermont, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 10/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Nov 1, 2002 Wow. This stuff is dynamite. Pure, crisp body. Light bronze in color with quickly fading head. Sharp. Caramel malt note is very tastefully done. Just a bit more hops than typical for this style, but it is very well blended with the rich malts. Very fine, pleasant nose. Malty and buttery, but never cloying: just like the body. Smooth. Perhaps just a hint of smokiness, just a speck. The best beer I have had in a long, long time. Excellent. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 14, 2002 Medium-dark amber, very clear, small fast-thinning head. Slightly smoky, malty nose is rather indistinct. Flavor also somewhat smoky, more bitter than usual but not extraordinarily so, thinnish body. OK. HighGravity (890), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 12, 2002 This is a very festive beer indeed. The beer looks like fall in a glass. Malty and smooth with a slight noble hop finish. Very good. dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
