This is a simple, but alright brown ale. The flavor is caramel with a little bit of a hop bite.

Tap. Reddish-Brown body and tan to white head. Really dark chocolate smell and light hops. Tastes pretty similar with chocolate and sweet caramel malts. You can feel the hops definitely. Pretty good.

Bomber: Oily tan head settles normally to thin carb film. Light caramel body from semi cloudy umber. Average brown ale.

Dark amber or light burnt brown, with a nice tight head that dissipates reasonably. Malty chocolate aroma with a touch of hop and yeast. The taste is unsweetened cocoa followed by a balancing hop bite. This bite lasts through the swallow. Moderate to high carbonation, the body is fuller than most brown ales. Quenching and flavorful.

this is a great brown. pours dark brown with just a little light visable through. aroma is of rich malts and hazlenut. flavor is very upfront and tons of flavor of sweet smooth malt, caramel, buttyness. finishes smooth and sweet with no real after taste.

Bottle. Poured a dark clear brown, with a decent head. Aroma of sweet roasted malt, chocolate, and hops. Taste is not overly hopped, with plenty of malt characteristic coming through. Finish is bitter. Mouth is pretty smooth and body is fairly average.

Pours a reddish brown with a tan head. Aroma of nuts, malt and biscuit. Very smooth taste that comes across with a nice malty flavor, caramel, toffee and subdued nuttiness. Very drinkable brown ale - not overly carbonated either like some of the other brown ales I have had lately. Another solid brew by Smuttynose.
