| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Apr 12, 2009 Bomber: Oily tan head settles normally to thin carb film. Light caramel body from semi cloudy umber. Average brown ale. smcolw (350), Wayland, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 11, 2009 Dark amber or light burnt brown, with a nice tight head that dissipates reasonably. Malty chocolate aroma with a touch of hop and yeast.
The taste is unsweetened cocoa followed by a balancing hop bite. This bite lasts through the swallow. Moderate to high carbonation, the body is fuller than most brown ales. Quenching and flavorful. sigma23 (219), , Maine, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 2, 2009 Pours a reddish brown with a tan head. Aroma of nuts, malt and biscuit. Very smooth taste that comes across with a nice malty flavor, caramel, toffee and subdued nuttiness. Very drinkable brown ale - not overly carbonated either like some of the other brown ales I have had lately. Another solid brew by Smuttynose.
