To the nose there are scents of hopps, pine, juniper berries, ripe fruit and a little grass. First taste was smooth and a little acidic from the hopp flavour but still very good. Flavours of hopps, smoke and a light caramel flavour. Palate is bitter and has a strong bitter flavour. heynik1885 (53), tonawanda, New York, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 16, 2008 Pours more of a lighter beige than a true brown ale, with a small white cap. Not too much in the nose, some typical earthy british aroma hops, some biscuity malt. More of the same on the palate with a slightly thin body, finishing vaguely chocolatey. Not my cup of tea.
