Smells of malts and faintly of caramel. Pours a nice dark murky copper brown. Taste is heavily caramel followed by a slight alcoholic bite. A very nice brown ale.

A little weak on the aroma, but otherwise very nice. Brown color very lightly carbonated with a really nicely balanced light malty taste with a set of dry hops perfectly matched. Just the slightest hint of bitter resulting from the hop content. Really nice overall result.

7th of my 10 tasting flight @ Portsmouth. Pours amber brown with an off white ring head. Nose is light with sweet malts. Its an overall tasty sweet and generally nice Brown. Could be better but it ain’t terrible.

(Bottle) Pours murky orangish brown with a huge beige head. Aroma of citrus, spruce, caramel, and nuts. Flavor of mild hops, caramel, and baked apple.

Brownish with small head. Nice roasted nut flavors, with toasted chocolate malts for aromas. The scent is much weaker than the powerful and robust flavor which has echoes of coffee and toasted chocolate. Not a bad brown.

355 ml, bbe Oct 07. Brown-red with a small kind of-lasting head. Aroma is earthy, bitter cocoa and woody molasses. Flavor is toasted pecan and walnut, woody oak and cedar, balanced by some molasses. Finish is bittersweet woody herbs, with an aftertaste of not-too-sweet caramel. Palate is almost medium bodied, watery, hop-tingly, slightly astringent and dry.

I picked up a sixer of this for $4.99 in July. There is still a single bottle left as I work my way through. It’s not a bad beer especially for the price. If I ran across it on tap it might merit another visit. This is perfect for those late summer/early fall days when temperatures hover in the 70s.

Aroma / Appearance - The rusty brown body looked the part. The one finger white head on top protected a minimal amount of carbonation. The scent could best be described as malty sun tea. There’s not much to it besides that.

Flavor / Palate - It tastes like raspberry iced tea with a bit of alcohol spiked with nutrasweet. You have to pay attention as it fades as quickly as it hits the tongue. The mouthfeel reminds me of flat Pepsi. It’s pretty average on the whole but great to sharing with non-beer geeks.
