I picked up a sixer of this for $4.99 in July. There is still a single bottle left as I work my way through. It’s not a bad beer especially for the price. If I ran across it on tap it might merit another visit. This is perfect for those late summer/early fall days when temperatures hover in the 70s.
Aroma / Appearance - The rusty brown body looked the part. The one finger white head on top protected a minimal amount of carbonation. The scent could best be described as malty sun tea. There’s not much to it besides that.
Flavor / Palate - It tastes like raspberry iced tea with a bit of alcohol spiked with nutrasweet. You have to pay attention as it fades as quickly as it hits the tongue. The mouthfeel reminds me of flat Pepsi. It’s pretty average on the whole but great to sharing with non-beer geeks. nramsburg (202), New York, New York, USA

Nice and nutty, good color, and an overall solid brown ale. Not too sweet, and the alcohol backbone really helps give this more substance than, say, a newcastle. Good beer. I had this again after several months and liked it much more the second and third go-round. Beer poured with moderate head and lacing. Nice crisp mouthfeel and robust nutty, caramelly flavor with nice hop backbone. I liked it. mansquito (834), Boston/Philadelphia, USA

Malty, and a tiny but fruity aroma. Taste is a a wee bit sweet with malt some hops and a caramel finish. Kind of hard to put my finger on the exact flavors. I agree with the previous reviewer that there was too much carbonation. McGarnigle (313), Rochester, New York, USA

Color of tea or weak coffee. Medium body, a little over-carbonated IMO. Tastes like a lot of brown ales (malt, slightly sweet) but has a somewhat dry finish. uits (3), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA does not count | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 10, 2007 Good pour and appearance, nice bitterness.
