Old Brown Dog has been cited as a classic example of the "American Brown Ale" style of beer. Compared to a typical English Brown Ale, Old Brown Dog is fuller-bodied and more strongly hopped.

Nice brown colour, typical for the style. Good amount of head. Smells metallic and malty. Tastes the same, slightly malty and metallic. fairly pleasant but certainly nothing special.

this is one of the really good brown ale’s. it is complex in flavors. and has a nice bit of carbonation. nice blending of hoppy german type bite yet a smooth lightly creamy feel. makes you want another!

This is a really nice brown ale, one of the best. The balance of the nutty, hoppy, and malty flavors is awesome. There is some chocolate and toffee from the malt that gives it some complexity. Very easy to drink, with moderate carbonation and a medium body.

This beer reminds me of an old brown dog when i drink it. I dont know why but it does, the ber itself has a good pour to it and the smell is fairly pleasant. the taste has a good hoppy bite to it and the booze is hidden very well. I enjoy that nutty flavor it has to it as well as its smooth taste. It is one of those beers that is very refreshing
