Feb 15, 2007 Bottle courtesy of Jasonmech: Brown with a reddish tint, with an off white head. Aroma, roasted malts, some caramel, brown sugar, and toffee. Flavor, toffee, roasted malts, some caramel, and a nice earthy bitterness on the finish. Pretty solid brown ale.

Feb 7, 2007 One of the best brown ales on the east coast. This beer pours dark brown with a toasted nutty flavor. Perfectly balanced and a perfect representation of what a brown ale should be.

Feb 6, 2007 12oz. Bottle: Aroma is lightly sweet and smells of hops and strawberry. Poured dark amber/brown in color with a small tan head that diminished quickly. Slight lacing. Very cloudy. Possible particles. Very sparkling. Flavor is malty. Tastes of roast, milk chocolate, and chestnuts. I don’t detect the caramel that several other raters have mentioned. Light to medium body. Average carbonation. Finish is chalky and sticky. Finish tastes lightly sweet and malty and lasts a long time. Overall, pretty good, but not that interesting.

Jan 25, 2007 Bottle Light amber pour with almost no head. Nutty sweet aroma with a hint of hops. Light earthy nutty flavor followed by a simple but pleasant hop profile. Overall, pretty good brown.

Jan 25, 2007 Bottle. Poured a borwn/amber clear body with thin head. Aroma is of sweet malt, with slight chocolate tones being detected. Taste is slightly sweet with a small amount of hops being present. Smooth and drinkable.

Jan 24, 2007 Pours amber brown with a small tan head. Nutty, malty, caramel aroma. Nicely hopped, lightly sweet malt, with notes of caramel, and chocolate. Palate is light/medium, slightly bitter, and roasty nutty chocolate. Very nicely balanced, and easy drinking.

Jan 22, 2007 On tap @ Colter Bay, Buffalo, NY. Nice lamty & smoooth brown ale. Reminds me of my pooch Guinness. Nice hop presence but doesn’t prevent a nice balanced brown ale. Well done. a nice session brew.
