Commercial Description:
Old Brown Dog has been cited as a classic example of the "American Brown Ale" style of beer. Compared to a typical English Brown Ale, Old Brown Dog is fuller-bodied and more strongly hopped.

Dark brown with a ruby tinge. Has a large tan foamy head but it disappears eventually. Aroma is nut, brown sugar, and roast. Tastes a bit nutty and sweet with a slight amount of roast and citrus. Medium body, low carbonation. Somewhat sticky finish.

Bomber from Barrios’ Massechussetts Trip Tasting. Pours a lightly hazed brown with wispy ring of light tan head. The sweet nutty aroma is verging on vegetal. Same in the flavor. Just too sweet for my taste. But good example for style.

Pours a deep ruby body and a fading beige head. Caramel and floral aromas. Flavor is much the same. Rind type bitterness on the finish.

A very descent brown ale. It’s a little bit lighter than some of those hard core brown ales out there, but it’s still good. It has all of the basic characteristics of a brown and it’s done pleasantly.

Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma of roasted nuts with some sweet undertones. Flavor is pretty sweet with some hops with a nice finish. Decent beer.
