Honey malt aromas, no noticable hops. Pours light blonde. Crisp lager, cereal malts, some honey, decent hop flavor. I think its a solid lager, but nothing to seek out.

Bottle. Dark colored lager. Mildly hoppy, sour aroma. There are some nice spicy flavors blending with hoppy bitterness to offset the usual lager sour/skunk flavor. It’s not the best lager ever, but for a style I rarely like, this one is very sessionable, has some flavor to offer, and I’ll be buying again.

Not a very good lager. It seems to be that good ale makers can’t make good lagers and vice versa.

I like Smuttynose very much, but what the hell is this? Kind of sour, kind of cheap brewhouse like....The hops did not seem to mesh with the malt barley....

Clear amber. Malty nose for a lager. But upon taste the hops win the battle. Teutonic in style. I would imagine an Oktoberfest from Colonge tasting like this.

Darkish almost light brown color, malty smelling and tasting with hops just a bit less than the malt. Slightly syrupy sweetness and decidedly un-lager like. Not a big lager fan so this was better than most, but didn’t want quite so much sweetness that takes away from the malt. Probably needs to cut back on the yeast and a bit more hops.

Smells strongly of yeast, very doughy, slightly hoppy. Pours a very light copper, almost straw color, slightly cloudy. Taste is very malty, well balanced. A tasty lager.

8th of my 10 tasting flight @ Portsmouth. Pours yellow with a bright white ring of a head. No aroma whatsoever. Decent bitterness and an overall decent lager.
