Grapefruit, thistle, malt aroma. Hazy golden pour with a thick head. Well hopped. Copper aftertaste. Quite good.

Portsmouth Lager is a clear, sparkling, golden lager with a small white head that fades just about completely. The aroma has some malt, hay, grass, orange, lemon, dough and possibly apple. In the mouth, it’s light-to-medium bodied, a bit dry, a bit watery, quite flat and a bit astringent. The flavor starts lightly acidic and ends up lightly bitter with the flavor of orange peel, coriander, and crystal malt. The finish is short. It’s pretty refreshing. It’s not as crisp as it could be. More carbonation would carry the flavor better. Nothing really stands out here. The flavor profile makes it seem more like a watered-down winter ale rather than a pale lager. With all that said, it’s not too bad and i would drink another.

Aroma like a strong American Pale Ale, a certain type of hops. Taste is sort of like a cross between a vienna and an APA. Malty, a little bit of that "German" taste but a little of that "American" taste too. There is some metallic character. Overall it tastes both malty and hoppy, probably a bit more malty, but fairly balanced. The flavours blend very well. This was an interesting beer. I think it is poorly named..."Lager" doesn’t really tell say anything about the character of this brew, and it certainly has a lot of character.

12oz bottle part of a variety pack, i really didn’t find this beer to be all that special, slightly bitter taste w/a small hoppy presence, light and refreshing taste but nothing to go wild about.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a medium golden color with a large white head. The aroma was typical sour and tangy lager. The flavor was sour, tangy and tart with a dry malty base. The finish was bitter and tangy.

This is a very good vienna. Pour was a dark gold with no head. Aroma of spice and malt. Taste was a nice mix of hops, malt and carbonation. Nice wet finish. Some corn/adjuncts in there, but all in all a nice mellow sipper.

Light golden color out of the bottle with a thin frothy white head and a slight aroma of citrus and Play-Doh. The taste is sweet, a little corny with a hint of berry. Light toast and some spice. The grassy hops almost prevent this from being cloying. Okay beer.

Pours a golden colour with a small head and light carbonation. Nose is very weak, light grain & hops are present. Taste is light bitter hops, malts and that basically it. Light body.
