Shared with blankboy, GregClow and tupalev - courtesy of tupalev. Poured clear amber-gold with a small head. Aroma of pungent yet stale hops, slightly of malt, very dry. Tastes of stale orange juice, stale hops, slightly harsh. Mouthfeel is dry, harsh and bitter - this is just okay, not malty enough to be a true Vienna, IMHO. crzybob77 (528), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 18, 2005 A respectable lager. Has a very crisp malty flavor with some hops in the finish, which is a welcome suprise or me with the usual lager. Can’t complain with this. KAggie97 (2481), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 11, 2005 Bottle from dirtymike. Thanks! I’m really liking the offbeat bottle labels... Anyway, pours a medium gold with a frothy head of white. Aroma is your typical skunk smell; rather, it’s a nice balance of hops and herbs. Flavor is a nice, light and crisp maltiness balanced by a bitter hop ending. Flavor is gone too quickly, in my opinion-- I would like more. Palate suits the beer nicely. Good session beer; wouldn’t mind more of these. intheric (20), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 29, 2005 A rather bland offering as Lagers go. I was not impressed by anything other than its drinkability. I will second the desciption that it’s a good sandwich beer! Probiere (992), Iowa, USA

Anyways, as Viennas go, I prefer Eliot Ness, which has a much more integrated toffee and biscuit flavor, but Smuttynose does a nice job with making a lightly sweet, toasty-malty sandwich beer. FInishes clean with light herbal notes. PeterLikesBeer (104), Berwyn Heights, Maryland, USA

Flavor is like the aroma, fruity but light. It tastes like a lighter version of the smuttynose pale ale. not a bad lager but I’d like it to have more flavor. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA

Aroma is a little caramel and a lot of grains. Flavor is caramel malts and a bit of a hop finish. Mouthfeel is buttery medium bodied. Slightly sour aftertaste that I didn’t find real pleasant. porterhouse (1163), Alna, Maine, USA
