It’s too hazy to easily see the carbonation bubbles rising through the chill haze, but my sharp vision can just about make out the movement. There isn’t much aroma to this beer; slight caramel, but mostly just generically grainy. The flavor is pretty generic as well, with a modest, slightly sweet, caramely maltiness, moderate graininess, and a gentle hops bitterness for balance. Medium bodied, slightly chalky mouthfeel, perfectly carbonated, fairly clean and long-lasting palate. Head retention has been about average, with the head subsiding to a ring, and lacing is scattered and patchy. Pretty much your straightforward American amber lager the way it’s supposed to be: clean, balanced, and easy to drink. ryan (1781), Beltsville, Maryland, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 3, 2005 i got this in a smuttynose mixed 12 pack. pick one up if you see it. it may be the best of the least flavorful beers i’ve had. i know that saounds bad but it’s actually pretty good. pours a little darker than bud. the beer is light yet complex halfway through it i started noticing some great although light fruit taste. this is a good beer for people who don’t really drink beer or if you just want soemthing light.
