Aroma of light biscuity malts and caramel. More caramel in the flavor than in the aroma. Other than that, not much except for the strangely harsh spicy hop finish. kwoeltje (1327), Manchester, Missouri, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 19, 2005 Lager gold with a small white head. The menu called it a pilsner, which fits much better than calling it a Vienna. Faint aroma. Flavor is crisp, nice balance of pale malt and hops. GirlyBeer (183), Biddeford, Maine, USA

Tastes of hops, malt, with a hint of caramel and asparagus. Maybe a little too bitter in the finish but overall an enjoyable brew. beerbuzzmontreal (2921), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 4, 2005 Updated: Aug 8, 2005Pours an amber body. Fairly hazy for a lager. Head was normal and balanced. Aroma is caramel malt with a hint of fruit. Flavor is largely caramel based with a hop bitterness. Much more hoppy than most lagers I’ve had. This was a lot worse the second time around. walter (359), Staunton, Virginia, USA

Copper/amber color, darkish for the style. Rounded caramel malts and a surprising bit of hops aroma. Medium body. Flavor mimics aroma-- characteristic lager smoothness in the malt body but with a little burst here and there of hop bitterness and citrus flavor. Crisp, hops-bitter finish. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jul 25, 2005 Semi-hazy and bright copper in color with a few bubbles rising to the top and filling in for the head. Somewhat of an anomaly for the aroma: traditional accents of caramel and Vienna malts join maple and brown sugar oatmeal, vanilla crème, a sprits of oranges and a dash of coriander. Much more flavorful than anticipated. Caramel, tree bark, coriander and pils musk. Grainy with corn husk qualities. Vibrant on the palate with carbonation a little much at times. Both hops and malts are succinctly amplified above traditional levels. Finishes as musky and paling, lingering for quite sometime before making its exit. Thanks again to tpkenned for the Smuttynose connection! jasonp (1513), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 16, 2005 Clear deep golden with a medium white head. Aroma of caramel. Flavor has notes of toasted malt, caramel and has some moderate hop bitterness on the back end. Pleasant sweetness. Medium body, smooth texture and lively carbonation. Some lacing left on the glass, good head retention. Not much goin’ on here but it’s a nice, drinkable beer.
