Seemed to be a bit oxidaded, cardboardish taste, along with a big ol´handfull of malts. No hopping to detect and that kind of kicks off the balace. MAP (1089), Lakewood, Ohio, USA

Hazy golden color and a small head. The aroma is malty sweet, a bit of citrus and a slight but of nuts. The flavor reflects the sweetness well, but there is an odd taste at the end. The palate just isnt much, but still, not a bad all around easy going drink. hopdog (5609), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Clean nose, excellent deep gold color, full bodied but not heavy, more hops then malt but nicely balanced. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 23, 2005 Pours a light straw yellow body with a thick off-white head. Aroma is somewhat fruity (apricot?). Taste is a little sweet with a nutty malt flavor and a little lemony hops coming through. Not a bad lager (another style I usually stear clear of). I’m becoming a big Smuttynose fan. TChrome (1299), Bedford, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 22, 2005 Cloudy honey color with a mostly retained egg white head. Aroma is grainy/malty. Flavor is likewise with a substanital biscuity malt flavor and a bit of bitterness for balance. Good beer. Thanks Probiere! lamas (728), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 21, 2005 Bottle. Brewed and bottled: 02/05. Pours a light-copper with a two-finger thick light-tan head. A little fizziness going on. Spicy and hoppy aroma with some hints of apricots. Pretty well-balanced but lacking any significant flavoring. Very grainy and crisp. Sweet malts, a little corniness and some bitter hops. Pretty blah. Not horrible, just very boring. thehinge (245), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 15, 2005 Pours a light amber color with a small head....lacing hangs around a good while. Aroma has hints of fruit. Taste is malty on the front end and has hints of lemon on the finish. I would recommend this to others as a good session beer.
