Feb 15, 2008 12 oz Bottle-Yellow/Orange color w/a moderate head. Faint hop aroma. Had some bitter hop bite to it, was a little chewy. Had some bread dough to it, but not much else going on. Too one dementional, kind of boring. Drinkable at best. I wouldn’t buy this again.

Feb 3, 2008 Pours a very slightly fogged orange gold. Minimal crème head that does not stick around. Nose is pretty uneventful. Flavor is bodied and slightly bitter. Very earthy. Nothing really interesting I have to say. Though there seems to be a slight inky aftertaste. Feel has a decent carbonation and the liquid has a decent body as well. Definitely drinkable. A nice hearty lager. It just doesn’t really hold anything interesting in the character department I think.

Jan 28, 2008 Got the last one out of a sampler pack. Pours a rather pale color with absolutely no head. Some hops in the nose. Kind of dry and bready. Some hops in the flavor as well. Tastes different from most beers of this style, but I can’t say that Smuttynose made any mistakes with this brew.

Jan 23, 2008 One of 4 brews I received in a sampler pac of Smuttynose. Poured a golden color with little to no head. Aroma was quite nice, smelled like caramel and cereal. Taste is very bread like and Left a pellet hop aftertaste. Better than a Bud or Miller but still a lager. This just is not my favorite style of beer.

Jan 13, 2008 Light caramel pour with little to no head. Nice aromas of malt and a touch of floral hops. Flavour was sweet and malty, well balanced and well hopped. Nice mouthfeel, almost chewy for such a light beer. A definite winner.

Jan 12, 2008 Bottle. Grassy-citrus aroma with strong pale malts. Pale golden pour with a creamy, rocky white head and lots of carbonation. Leaves a hunk of lace on the sides. Taste is bready with good Germanish spiciness and a strong malt backbone. Very dry mid body through aftertaste, not quite bready, but still surprisingly dry for style. Thin body but all the more drinkable, rounded feel. Seems classier than it should. Nice!

Jan 11, 2008 Bottle from the fresh. Pours a dark yellow with a small head that decipates very fast. Aroma of weeds, hay, and urine. Not a good smell at all. Flavor is malt and bread with very little hops. Once i got past the aroma it wasnt a horrible brew but still far from good.
