| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 4, 2006 Bottle. Pours amber with a white head, and lively carbonation. Very assertive aroma of pumpkin spices..nutmeg and cinnamon. Flavor is pretty much the same, but there is a british pale ale maltiness hiding behind those spices. Spicy hop finish, with some grassiness and cinnamon bite. Pretty darn solid. I enjoyed this more than the DFH Punkin. Yet another good beer from Smuttynose. Trooper11 (467), Suffolk, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 17/20 | Oct 4, 2006 Thanks to Immy for this 12 oz beauty. What a huge foamy white head atop this orange-amber brew. Finally, a Pumpkin ale that actually smells like pumpkin and spice with notes of grass. Very malty, pumpkin spice flavor. Medium bodied. Mostly smooth but a little rough on the edges. Probably my favorite in this category. after4ever (2803), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 4, 2006 12-oz,; thanks, BeachBum25! This is definitely one of the better pumpkin ales I’ve tried. Pours a big bright amber/orange with frothy, moussy/bubbly white head that runs away as soon as your back is turned. Nice pumpkin/coriander nose; very pie-like. Crisp attack and nice crisp hop finish; they really tried to make a classic APA out of this with some extra holiday cargo, rather than just doctoring up an overly malty autumn beer and calling it a pumpkin ale. I would actually drink this beer any month of the year pretty happily. Nice! MI2CA (1266), Noblesville, Indiana, USA

Pours light orange with a medium head and good lacing. Flavor is a artifical tasting match to aroma with some malt in the aftertaste. Palate is sticky. What can I say, it’s a pumpkin beer. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 24, 2006 12 oz bottle. Orange amber with an almost yellowy head that lasts for the duration. Spicy nose, nutmeg, allspice, plus a decent malt backbone. Some pumpkin is there, but in the background. Awesome white lace rings. Flavor is malty, but the spiciness really steals the show. Pumpkin flavors are there as an afterthought. Hops finally assert themselves in the bitter, spicy finish. Good - one of the few pumpkins I can drink more than one of. thornecb (1799), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA
