Apr 20, 2009 Updated: May 31, 2009pours dark with an off white head that lasted half a beer smell is of coffee and malt. taste is coffee start maybe hints of chocolate finishing into a roasted taste in my mouth not much of an after taste most of the taste comes at the beginning. smells fantastic taste is alright.

Apr 19, 2009 12 oz. Bottle. Pours excellent, dark brown. Creamy/Dark tan head. Instant malt flavor, followed by a chocolate(cocoa)/coffee and nutty after taste. Just the right balance between the bitterness and full body flavor. I wouldn’t want much more in a porter, it has all that I love about a nut brown ale, encased in a lovely porter body. One of our favorite beers, easily.

Malty, oatmeal and sweet dark chocolate. Then good smokey coffee in the finish with a lightly hopped dryness.
Quite a thick beer, drinkable when well chilled but a bit much as it warms up. Quite sticky.

Apr 14, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours almost black with small ruby highlights. Small, creamy, tan head. Notes of raisins, chocolate, caramel, coffee, alcohol, and a touch of prune in the nose. Medium carbonation with a thick, rich mouthfeel. A nice hint of dryness in there too. The palate tastes of coffee, mineral, caramel, bittersweet chocolate, along with a nice hop bitterness on the back end. Rich and creamy at first then finishes with a bitter dryness. Quite nice! An excellent brew for sure, but I would classify it as a stout.

Apr 10, 2009 fantastic porter. aroma is rich coffee, chocolate, burned malt, and sweetness. drinks smooth with a nice bitter coffee and semisweet chocolate. some roast malts in the middle but this one finishes clean with some coffee. no after taste. this one is crisp!

Apr 5, 2009 A fitting name for this beer, one fine porter indeed.
Pours oily black, with mahogany/mocha head.
Aroma of strong dark fruits, chocolate and malts.
Taste simply loaded with chocolate, roasted malts, full body, light bitter hops, robust at best and could easily pass for more than 5.7%.
