The coffee flavor overpowers the taste, but some malt manages to peak through to give it some balance. Finishes dry roasty and clean. Tilley4 (218), Huron, Tennessee, USA

Nice, dark, and full of roasted malt and chocolate flavors, I found this to be a really good porter and one I could drink quite easily again. BeerGestapo (740), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA

Black pour with a light tan head and good lacing. Smell is subtle roasted malt and milk chocolate. Flavor is roasted malt and sweet bitter coffee. Great body - one of the best bodied porters I’ve had. Rather, one of the best porters I’ve had. A bit underplayed in the aroma and flavor but overall, a winner! changeup45 (799), Orlando, Florida, USA

I was right. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad beer, I’m just not a big fan of this style. Black in color with a nice tan head and an okay amount of lace left behind. The aroma is pretty nice, they’ve got a coffee/chocolate thing going on which is easily detected in the taste as well. Somewhat dry with malt and some bitterness. Not one I’ll get too often though. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 6, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark black with a pretty small dark tan head. Pretty much a huge coffee/roast bomb! Very good though, especially when paired with chocolate. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA

Gorgeous Porter. Fully opaque with a huge tan head. At least 3 fingers thick and densely packed with bubbles, looks creamy as hell. Tremendous retention and phenomenal cobweb lacing. Some Imp Stouts wish they could look this good. Nose is chalky, full of chocolate and roasted beans, dark malts and grounds, with a hint of vanilla and licorice. Damn good smelling beer as well. Fore holds all of the elements of the aroma, chocolate and coffee mainly, but also vanilla and roasted malts. It’s a bit of a step down from the intensity of the aroma, but still nicely done. Back end is very roasty and with a budding chocolate presence. Medium-full bodied, perfectly creamy mouthfeel for the style. Finish picks up some hop astringency, to go along with the sweetness and roasted notes that are present everywhere else. Great brew. jkwalking05 (1485), Arlington, Texas, USA
