Smells of chocolate, pepper, some coffee. Tastes of chocolate and roasted malt with some underlying bitterness. Okay, but where are the dark fruit hints that are supposed to be common to this style? pforei (338), USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 26, 2007 Pours pitch black with a nice sized tan head. Nose is dusty chocolate. Beautiful. Flavor is smooth and hearty and never waivers. Nice even malt characters with a smokey, dirty edge. Feel is great. Nice and appropriate leel of bubble on the tongue. Thicker liquid feel. Definitely drinkable. A good example of the style. Beerio (48), USA
