Kind of bland, some chocolate & licorice, but not a whole lot. No real carbonation or malt. Wasn’t very impressed by this one, or many of their others for that matter. Aroma was of coffee and chocolate but very pleasant and inviting. This beer had a full mouth feel with noticable carbonation and tasted of coffee and burnt chocolate. Very Good Porter. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 14, 2007 Nice black pour with thick tan head. Chocolate and coffee aroma with some hops detectable. Taste is really good - thick & hoppy with plenty of well roasted malt. Chocolate & lots of coffee - well balanced. An outstanding American porter! bfeldmann (1042), Wilmington, Delaware, USA

Aroma was nicly roasted coffee not to bitter. Flavor was mught the some with a hint of vanilla in there as well as some citrus. Mouthfeel was a little heavy but very very nice beer. MaltOne (61), USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 12, 2007 Decent. Pours a opaque coffee color with ample cream-brown head, leaving a nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is beery and slightly sour (in a good way). Flavor is nicely roasted, coffee, more on the bitter/hops side of the balance, then the malt. Definetly coats the tongue with flavor, lingering, makingit a good one to savor over time. Overall, a upper shelf porter. I’d drink it happily if offered. There are a few I’d favor above it. TerryR (383), Oswego, Illinois, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Feb 21, 2007 Bottle Pours a very dark brown with some redish hues. Modest sized but very dense and creamy mocha colored head. Lacing is rich and sheeting. Classic porter aroma, dark roasted nd some coffee and dark fruits. Flavor is big time roasted and charcoal. Some bittersweet chocolate and campfire type notes. Very nice smoth creamy palate, and just the riht amount of lingering bitterness. This is indeed a robust porter. Thanks to Drewbeerme for this nice one.
