Bottle Pours a very dark brown with some redish hues. Modest sized but very dense and creamy mocha colored head. Lacing is rich and sheeting. Classic porter aroma, dark roasted nd some coffee and dark fruits. Flavor is big time roasted and charcoal. Some bittersweet chocolate and campfire type notes. Very nice smoth creamy palate, and just the riht amount of lingering bitterness. This is indeed a robust porter. Thanks to Drewbeerme for this nice one.

Black. Clean, crisp and smooth. Coffee and roasted malts taste. Slightly bitter but goes down very well. Slight vanilla tinge at the end. Very Good.

I found this porter great for the first beer, but I wasn’t able to drink more than 3 and enjoy it like I would some of the smoother drinking porters. The beer has a ton of roasted, very very burnt flavors, but it isn’t particularly smooth.

12oz, best before 4/07. bizzare label but sweet. poured dark with tan head, looks like a milkshake. nose is dull baker’s chocolate, rust, and floral hops. taste is actually robust, rich with chocolate and coffee. not overly roasty. palate is smooth but perhaps a bit thin. carbination is low to average. tasty indeed.

Bottle: Dark brown to black with a tan head. Aroma, roasted malts, some chocolate, coffee. Flavor, coffee, chocolate, a roasted bitterness, smooth on the finish. Medium bodied. Very nice.

The commercial description is spot on for this one. Very nice, one of the better porters I’ve had. So tasty and drinkable.

The color is pitch black and the head is nougat colored and creamy. The flavour has wonderful notes of dark chocolate and bitter coffee. The flavour is incredibly harmonic and balanced, it has gorgeous notes of dark chocolate, dark roasted coffee, licorice and the burnt flavours are very, very nicely balanced. It’s a porter with a LOT of flavour even if the ABV is only 5,2% - just like i prefer my "black" beers - powerful and tasty - yummi yummi.... 1869

bottle--pours opaque black with a small tan head.. smells gorgeous.. chocolate malts all over the place, some roasted coffee beans in there as well. it is thick, and chocolaty with a burnt wood flavor coffee in there as well... the finish is exquisite, smooth with a fine coffee flavor this is a wonderful porter.
