(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Black colour with a brief, beige head. Roasted nose with black coffee, wild berries (blueberries, crowberries) and notes of citrussy hops. Roasted taste with coffee, dark chocolate, the same wild berries, soy sauce, liquorice and hints of citrussy hops in the dry, fresh finish. In superb balance. Great taste despite the fairly low abv. A benchmark for porter brewers. In short, a masterpiece.

Very dark brown pour, almost black. Head starts off promising but evaporates quickly. Excellent aroma of coffee and smoke. Tastes of coffee, some chocolate and smoky. Some hops come through in the finish. Excellent porter.

Great picture on the bottle. another near black pour with a very thin head. smoked semi-sweet chocolates, some sharpness on the tongue and jaw and more smoke in the aftertaste. was not quite thick enough to match the smell - not quite enough flavor, but still very good. I just expected it to be a little more robust, no pun intended

Slight roasted malt aroma. Coffee and bitter sweet taste. No chocolate, no cream. Felt watery and underwhelming after the anderson valley deep enders I just had. Slightly bitter aftertaste was unexpected especially for this style.

Bottle~Looks a bit watery, not in this case. Pours a dark black coffe look I guess robust is the word for it. Head is not present in this case. Taste very roasty, bitter and malty. I never had coffee but this is what I’m sure this compares to it. Great dessert beer I would make a beer float with this one. As this beer gets warmer the taste of caramel, and walnuts comes out.

Poured from bottle (yep, thats a porter). Has that nutty, unsweetened syrup smell to it. Runs the flavor gamut - nutty, smoky, oaky, coffee, hint of cocoa too. Hops kick in big in the aftertaste. Has superior feel to it - as drinkable a porter as I’ve ever tried. Finished as nicely as it started. Wonderful porter.

12 oz bottle shared with StompBrockmore - very dark brown, near black, smallish mocha head. Aroma mainly dark chocolate, lots and lots o’ those roasted malt thingys, and.....COFFEE! WHYYYYYYY??!?!?!! I just don’t like coffee, and I realize that that is a huge draw to these types of beers, and I can objectively appreciate the complexity of what’s going on, but since drinking beer is primarily a subjective thing, meaning you like it or you don’t, wellllll.....this one’s no fo me. Anyhow, taste much the same as the aroma, and yes, it IS robust - chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, blahblahblah, does anyone even read these?

12oz bottle, shared with VeloVampire - pours very dark brown, almost black. Aroma is strong roasted malt and coffee., with some dark chocolate. The aroma gave away what the taste would be, but I was still surprised by how ’stout-like’ this porter was. Very strong, full bodied flavour - really nice actually. Lots of coffee, roasted, nutty malt, more chocolate, with a lighty bitter finish. This is a very fine porter, and "robust" indeed. Like I said before, it’s almost like a stout. Either way though, I could drink a lot of this brew. Flavourful and rich! Fantastic!
