Well roasted notes, tons of semi sweet chocolate chips lots of malts some light bitter coccoa powders. Palate is well coated, lightly oily and chewy. Flavor is lots of bitter chocolates a good roasty malt flavor and a dry finish. A very nice porter. TrevorFloyd (309), Connecticut, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 9, 2006 Everything you expect in a porter: roasted chocolate and coffee, big on the malt, a little bit of bitterness. Except here it’s all balanced beautifully. Excellent. grimreeser (797), Minnesota, USA

Pours a thick black with medium head, very nice lacing. You picked a pretty one OG. Or maybe I just poured it right. Strong roasted malt aroma, chocolate as well. Heavy maltiness, some bitterness. Nice thick palate. radagast83 (1317), Fairfax, Virginia, USA

Half an inch of light brown head, with a black completely opaque body. Smells roasty and malty with a hint of hop. Tastes roasty and malty, coffee-like with a hint of hop. This is an excellent porter. Medium to full in body and extremely tasty. One of the best porters I’ve ever had. thornecb (1814), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA

Deep espresso and chocolate aromas. Upfront crispness with a cream chocolate middle and a lasting coffee hop finish. Very nice. tronraner (1938), Seymour, Tennessee, USA

This looks remarkably like maple syrup when pouring, with a small brown head. The aroma is sweet and chocolatey with hints of vanilla and roasted barley. The flavor is much roastier than I was expecting, reminding me a bit of a stout. But there’s some dark chocolate, vanilla, and some noble hops to counter it. It mixes into a taste not unlike a cappuccino, but more bitter. The finish is woody and pleasant. I enjoy this beer. skoisirius (588), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 6, 2006 12 oz bottle into an English Pint (thanks to acertain!!!). The Smuttyness pours a rich and silkly looking dark blackish color with an extremely thin amberish tan head that quickly retreats. The aroma brings out a hugely dark and robust roasted cocoay coffee (more on the cocoa side) nose. Amazing aroma!! The flavor is also very toasted bringing out a silky texture on the tongue at first with the tastes of roasted chocolate and malts. It progresses slowly into a more coffee hopped finish, where the roasted coffee lingers on the palate for a bit. Has a small lean towards a stout. A seriously solid porter. Would drink this over and over again!!
