Got this in a trade. Relatively creamy, and the flavor is a bit of sweet with robust (hah!) coffee and chocolate flavors. The flavors are almost like they were trying too hard... not very subtle.

Cask@GBBF 2009. Opaque brown color, small steady stan head. Toasted malty and red currant aroma. Flavor has roasted malts, red currant and some licorice. Red currant is odd here.

This poured a dar dark brown color with a light tan head. Aroma was very roasted, some hints of chocolate as well. Flavor was really balanced roastedness and silky chocolate, not so much robust like the beer says, but a pretty good balanced porter.

12oz bottle thanks to WT, consumed on August 7, 2009. Pours an incredibly dark brown color, almost like a thick wood stain, with a gorgeous brown head. The head leaves behind a sticky, yet patchy lacing. Aroma is very roasted, and the flavor is of strong roast, yet light and easy on the palate. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. Coffee and chocolate are most noticed in the finish... a great, great beer.

Cask at the GBBF 2009. A very dark beer with peat and moss aroma. The flavour is bittersweet with an overall roasted smokiness. There’s a nice aftertaste rounds everything off. Very, very tasty.

Very dark brown, strong tan head, thinly coated lacing. Spent coffee ground aroma, some dry wood as well. Biting roasted character, nearly bitter on its own. Robust indeed, there’s a gentle and persistent creamy chocolate finish with enough body to allow itself to be cut through with the next initially bitter sip. Super.

Cask@GBBF, 2009. Almost black beer with a very roasted aroma, and a slightly rich, gently bitter and roasted flavour. Overall an average roasted beer.
