Slightly cloudy with an inch of head that slowly dissapated to a trace. Sticky lacing hung around the sides. Scents of malt, caramel and toffee filled the nose. A very malty, sweet taste with hints of caramel, toffee, alcohol and peat. A smokey, sticky, sweet finish. jefcon (1005), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 1, 2007 Hmmmm. Really dark in the glass. Piney aromas and some hop backing. Not as thick or as heavy as you might think on the palate. Plenty of malts, caramel and a nice malty finish, which is sharp instead of drying. I wish this would have been on the market sooner than December! swoopjones (1917), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 29, 2007 2007 bottle from Bauer Wine and Spirits in Boston, MA. Shared with Henning. Nose is nicely fruity, with some underlying caramel, hints of smoke/peat, and a little bit of hops. Flavor is hands down awesome. Wow. It just gets better and better as it warms. Still slightly fruity (but again not cloyingly sweet at all) with notes of peat, smoke, caramel and a little bit of maple. Slightly bitter finish. Terrific stuff. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 27, 2007 Bomber. Pours a dark copper and had a medium sized off white head. Holding up to the light I can see a good amount of carbonation. Aromas of damp wood, light smoke, malts, and sweetened fruits. Flavor is malts, ashy wood, mild smoke. Almost like a very mild barleywine. Lightly bitter and dry in the finish. I really love this brewery and their bomber prices are always quite low. $3.99 for this one and it is worth every penny.
