| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 18, 2007 22oz’er ... poured reddish-brown with just a thin whisp of a top, quite still and sheeny. Wow, this has a butt-kicking aroma, full of smoke, peat and rustic atmosphere. The promise is delivered in the first sample ... ashy and peaty, this is a smoky, flavorful brew. I need some cheese in a bad way with this beer. Bit on the thin side, perhaps, but this is a darn good beer! (#3209, 11/18/2007) thornecb (1794), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 17, 2007 Pours deep amber into a stem glass. Off-white Smutty head. Dark caramel aromas. Creamy and fizzy with upfront 3 musketeers -- turns quite smoky - almost Rauch-lite. Very nice. dmac (1488), Toms River, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 17, 2007 22 oz bomber. Pours a reddish/brown with a small off whiteish creamy head that coats the body very nicely. Big smokey aroma of peat that makes me think this should almost be a ruachbier but hey it isn’t. So we have a peat smoke aroma with notes of amber malts, honey, and a slight hint of chocolate. Flavor of smoke, I know it isn’t a rauchbier, citrus hops, chocolate and a little touch of alcohol. Nice stuff.. jcwattsrugger (5532), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
