22 ounce bottle split in pint glass. Dark reddish amber with nice lasting head and lace. Toasted brown sugar and ripe cherry raisin aroma with mild peatiness. Fruity caramelized brown sugar with very mild peat and smooth clean finish. Manages to avoid the sugary cough syrup flavor that plagues so many American Scotch ales. I like a little more peat smokey Scotch, but this is pretty good. Medium-full body and medium low carbo makes for a nice creamy mouthfeel. Very good.

Bottle. Earthy malt aroma, touch of sweetness. Deep reddish brown body, small off-white head. Flavor has sweetness and lots of malt. Very pleasant, but I agree with others that the sweetness may be a bit overdone.

bomber from grape and gourmet. pours a very dark amber with a slight red tint and a half inch light brown head and good lacing. aroma is a bit faint with hints of roasted nuts, caramel, a touch of citrus, and a bit of smoke. flavor is very smooth but not very bold. the smoke flavor comes through after the swallow and follows flavors of roasted pine nute, caramel, some hop bitterness, and a touch of coffee. mouthfeel is a bit heavy, but easily drinkable. overall, not a bad scotch ale.

22 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a brownish tinted red with a three finger head. Average head retention and lacing. Nutty aroma with some coffee notes. Taste is very similar with green apple and slight alcohol. Medium bodied.

22 oz. bomber. Pour shows a dark amber-brown, slightly hazy color. Creates a solid and thick 1" bone white head with excellent retention throughout the entire glass. Nose reveals a pleasant array of aromas of peat smoke, burnt caramel, figs, raisins and toasted malts. Mouthfeel was disappointingly a bit too thin and watery in the finish for such a big beer. Flavor department shows a classic Wee Heavy Ale with an ample amount of peat smoked malts, caramels, toffee and dark fruits. Finish is bittersweet with a touch of spice hoppiness coming through to balance the sweetness. Not a top-shelf Scotch Ale but worth the try.

bomber. Deep amber in color with a medium sized off whtie head. Aroma of caramel/molasses, peat smoke, light roast. Taste is very clean, with a good amount of caramel, moderate peat smoke, some roast, and mild to moderately fruity. Full bodied, in line with the 7.8 % ABV. Finishes with lingering light notes of fruit and molasses. Very nice scotch ale.

22 oz. bomber bottle. Pours clear copper, with a small, but steady light tan head that leaves some soapy lace. Aroma is very peaty and smoky with nice carmelized malt and some light fruity esters. Flavor is peaty and rather dry and scotch-like, with a fairly bitter finish. Medium bodied, but seems just a bit thin and watery. Fairly smooth, with some nice warming alcohol. Solid effort overall.
