| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 3, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a mostly hazy deep copper, with a thin filmy head and some lace. Aroma is on the nutty malty pale malt side, similar to a dogfish head pale ale with just light earthy brittish hops. Flavor is mroe toasted malts, nutty, bready, lightly caramelized malts, and burnt toast with just very light herrbal and earthy hops. Clean and easy to drink. Not great, but nothing bad about it at all. Tessic (480), Brantford, Ontario, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 3, 2008 This Pale Ale poured a nice deep copper colour with a very short lived rocky white head. To the nose there was scents of hopps, pine and grass with a splash of ripe fruit. First taste was very hoppy with stong flavours of pine and grass. Hopp heads delight. The finish was very acidic/bitter with the palate lingering with the flavours of pine. dmtroyer (415), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 3, 2008 12oz. Pours amber/orange with an off-white head. Aroma is fairly subdued but I got some sweet malt, caramel, and a touch of dirty hops for good measure. Body is similar, but is delightfully well-balanced with malt, hops and medium to soft carbonation. This could be an everyday drinker in my book. Haslinger (666), Syracuse, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 2, 2008 Bottle from the Smuttynose variety pack. Decent aroma with some hops and a little citrus. The taste is crisp and malty. The malt lingers on my tongue a little too long for my liking but overall this is a very solid pale ale that I would buy again SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA

Rich amber color with interesting patterned lacing and capping. Bright roasted crystal malt nose and flavors. Clean quaffable thin, low carbonation, and leaves with a great hop bite in the finish. Very good session ale! craftycarl21 (590), South Hero, Vermont, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 9, 2008 reddish amber pour with nice rising carbonation, very solid head, slow to die away. aroma is underwhelming, very straight-forward. Flavor has interesting bitterness and definitely hop presence, with a fairly watery mouthfeel, though a solid lingering aftertaste. Good contribution from smutty, nice beer.
