Commercial Description:
Copper-colored ale is medium-bodied and highly hopped. Its flavor is delightfully complex: tangy fruit at the start, with an assertive hop crispness and a long malty palate that one well-known beer writer has compared to the flavor of freshly-baked bread.

Slight swirl in the pour of this 12 oz bottle. Some gunk on the bottom afterwards. Yeasty aroma with a slight metallic hint. Very bitter medicine that hangs for quite a while. Intense citrus rind bang that fades rapidly only to leave a building bitter lingering soap finish.

Smells very well balanced between malty sweetness and citrusy hops. Pours a nice deep orangish copper color. Taste is balanced hops and malts. A little more hops wouldnt hurt though.

Quite a brownish heavy color for a "pale" ale - surprisingly close in color to the brown ale. Hops evident right in the smell, quite heavy for the style. But nicely balance with a reasonably rich malty without being too heavy. Dry finish. Very nice overall effect but more of a bitter than a "pale ale".

9th of my 10 tasting flight @ Portsmouth. Pours light amber with a bright white ring head. Nose is light but there are little notes of hops. Taste is lightly spicy with a nice hop kick. Very nice Pale.

Cask gravity @ GBBF 2007, London. Clear medium amber color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, pine, grapefruit. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration and a nice dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.

355 ml, bbe Nov 07. Slight haze in this new penny colored beer with a medium head that really lasts well, leaving some sticky lace. Nose is spicy dried fruit (almost berry-like), toasted nut and caramel. Flavor pits some dry-bitterish, fruity and earthy-spiced hops and yeast against an underlying malt sweetness that has some chocolate, nut, coffee, and brown sugar tones. Medium-bodied and smoothish; drying and tingly on the tongue. Excellent EPA.
