Nose was lightly citrus with some funky/off-smelling notes. Flavor initially was a continuation of that off smelling nose. After the beer warmed, this settled out and dissapated. However, the beer was never anything special, OK at best. Thanks to Wild4mild for the bottle. bubbleflubber (895), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 4, 2007 Not a bad choice.... Pours deep hazy amber into the glass with a perfect head... pock-marked and stiff, almost like eggwhites. Citrus, hops and candy fruit rings are on the nose. Very crisp and biscuity, pale malts quite evident (Crystal, it seems primary) with a high-hop cleanliness to the palate. Long finish, bready. Overall, good integration between bitters and biscuit malt. brewblackhole (1381), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 27, 2007 Light citrus hop aroma, a little apricot, surprisingly bitter first impression, orange peel hop bitterness, some malt balance, wow its odd how that bittering hop dominates If bittering is ok with you as it is with me, this is a serviceable brew, but an English Pale Ale,no way green (187), Boston, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 5/5 | 11/20 | May 19, 2007 Brown sugary aroma. Soft mouthfeel. Actually, on the dry side not so sweet. An unpronounced flavor profile with a touch of tabacco. All the flavor is in the back end finishing with lots of hops resin. PilsnerPeter (2617), Flushing, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 15, 2007 Bottle: This is an underrated English Ale. Pours a nice cloudy bronze/amber color with a substantial tan head. Has a great fruity hop aroma; some golding/fuggle, and blood orange suggestions. Also has an earthy malt component with a hint of oats. Flavor is no disappointment. Upfront it has peppery fruity flavors. Earthy hop characteristics with some dark citrus notes. Has a toasty bready malt background and a hint of caramel sweetness. The finish is rich, bready and bitter. This is a very solid English Pale Ale. mkgrenwel (420), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 13, 2007 Red apple skin. Peppery, spicy hops. Mossy. Toffee. Big malty base. Pretty thick mouthfeel. Some nice flavors, but lacking complexity and depth. Good beer, but Smutty can do even better. Prcaus (159), New Jersey, USA

I was overall not impressed. It seemed slightly off so I plan on trying it again. Alldaydrinker (558), Norwood, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 6, 2007 Pours a cloudy amber colour with a fizzy off white medium head. Aroma is citrus hops and mild malts. Taste begins with a citrus hoppy slap finishing with a malts on the palate. I feel the body was lighter than expected. Medium Carbonation. Slight finishing lacing of the glass.
