Commercial Description:
Copper-colored ale is medium-bodied and highly hopped. Its flavor is delightfully complex: tangy fruit at the start, with an assertive hop crispness and a long malty palate that one well-known beer writer has compared to the flavor of freshly-baked bread.

From bottle. Deep amber pour with tan head. Nose has lots of grain, grassy hops and caramel. Flavor follows with a light bitter finish.

An above average, quality pale. Falls in with a large group of tasty ales that really don’t distinguish themselves from each other. A nice balance of hops and flavor. I had one of these after a Bass Pale and this one is a much truer tasting pale. There were no negatives with the Shoals.

Hazy orange on color with small white head. Citrus smell and taste. Nice body with good sharp bitter finish.

Pours reddish copper with frothy off-white head. Nicely carbonated and inviting. The nose is sweet and hoppy. The beer taste mostly bitter to me from start to a lingering finish. Crisp on the palate.

12 oz bottle. Clear brown with a frothy oatmeal head. Gets craggy. Woody with a touch of brown sugar. Bitter orange and grapefruit pith. Juicy finish. Grows on you. Light carb. Body gives just enough to chew on.

Chalky mineral taste with little hops. I love pale ale Smuttynose IPA so had high hopes for this. Unfortunately Shoals was barren, thin, and dreary just like the landscape on the label.

bottle - This beer has a light amber pour with a moderate head. Quality hops make for a pleasant aroma. It tastes moderately hoppy with well balanced caramel malts. The finish is bitter and seems a touch off. This is pretty good.

Bottle. Pale amber look with decent head. Good taste that has a slight spice to it. Very smooth but not a great ale. Decent.
