This is just a beautiful beer. Amber with a pillowy beige head of extreme retention. Has a pine and citrus aroma of hops. Medium body and bitterness. Has a strong tart flavor at first, but a fine and delicate berry flavor then emerges. Finishes with a quick bitterness. This has the thickest head that I’ve ever seen on a pale ale. It leaves a floating discoid of foam that is nearly solid in texture. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 22, 2006 Pour of ambered golden. Aroma of buttery sweet hop candies and aged tannins. Rich strong golden malt beams through with plums and lemon sugars. Tangy butter fire of grapefruit and pine resins. The finish is reticent with hop sugars, almonds and grapefruit skin resins. I don’t feel that it really follows the style, but it’s damn decent.
