| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 6, 2005 Updated: Nov 7, 2005(12 oz bottle: Chevy Chase Liquors in Washington, DC) This is a well-balanced pale ale, but it seems pretty ordinary to me. It’s somewhat toasty, minimally sweet, and the hops is citrusy, grassy and moderately bitter for an overall flavor that is consistent from start to finish. The nose is mostly just grassy hops with a hint of toast in the background. Light-medium bodied, trending pretty close to medium, carbonation is good, and the beer is very clean. The dark amber and hazy body is topped by a smallish off-white head that settles to a very wide ring while leaving a few large patches of lace on the glass. I was expecting much more from this beer, and maybe I should try another bottle just to be sure, but I don’t think it’s more than just an average pale ale. I don’t see what the fuss is about. jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA

Citrus hop and biscuit malt aroma. The malt flavor hits me first, followed by a certain grassiness, finishing with a decent hop bitterness. PeterLikesBeer (104), Berwyn Heights, Maryland, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 20, 2005 Pours a dark amber color with a creamy head that subsides quickly. Aroma is hoppy, has some honey and some wheat in it. Flavor is a tad bit bitter at first but the finish is smooth and sweet. It needs a few more hops to be a great pale ale but it already is a pretty good brew. KAggie97 (2476), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA
