| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 12, 2004 Slightly hazed amber body, light frothy light tan head. Light hop and bread aroma. The flavor is quite bready with a nice little bit of a hop bite towards the end. The palate is quite delightful, for a session beer. Not too shabby. YogiBeera (2437), Hamburg, Germany

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 30, 2004 An aroma of hops and caramel. A flavor of hops and caramel. A decent pale ale, not more, not less. BennyTicklez (621), USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 24, 2004 Pours dark brown off the tap. The flavor of this beer isn't very assertive. Maybe a hint of caramel in there. Kind of dark and heavy compared to other pale ales I've had. It's different, not to my liking. Dorwart (1814), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 16, 2004 Decent head with almost no carbonation. Tart and hoppy aroma. Very hoppy. Slightly floral with a touch of fruit. Color is a dark amber. Good hop flavor along with a bit of roastyness. Almost like burnt toast. Finish is roasty also and leaves a nice bitter aftertaste. A very good pale ale and another very good beer from Smuttynose. hopscotch (5483), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 12, 2004 Crystal clear, copper-colored ale with a small, creamy, off-white head.
Bisquity, citrusy aroma with notes of milk chocolate. Malty flavor with big fuggle or cascade hops for balance. Medium-bodied with a fizzy mouthfeel and a lengthy, bitter finish. Recommended.
