The aroma has some subtle anisette notes, hints of straw and a light apricot fruitiness in the soft hop presence. Mildly carbonated and smooth bodied. The flavor is light, but elegant. Has grainy malt hints upfront, followed by mildly sweet licorice suggestions and a soft apricot hop presence. The finish has a smooth bitterness. Really easy going and tasty stuff. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 9, 2008 Tap at Mugs Ale House. Pale amber gold with a thin head. Aroma is lightly malty and a little spicy. A touch of fresh herbal hoppiness as well. Reasonably crisp and light bodied, but there is a nice balance of pale malt, light spice and noble hops. A touch of light pear/berry esters character on the back. Nice lingering herbal hoppiness. It’s actually pretty solid on this night.
