Flavor is mild, fruity, lightly sweet. Finish is abrupt and attenuated. Overall, this one is below Smuttynose’s usual high standards. jerc (3945), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Flavour is quite grainy, a bit roughly so at first. Sweet malt with dry toasty malt and fruity overtones. Aroma is mild, dry malts with sweeter underlying malt notes. Average to medium bodied palate. Okay, but does not quite come together for me. On tap at Coles, Buffalo oteyj (773), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 6, 2009 Hazy peach pour with one finger white head that dissipates into a veneer. Aroma is a sharp citrus. Grapefruit, straw, grass, and coriander come through as well. Flavor is sweet, smooth, mellow citrus with a grassy hop backbone. Finishes slightly bitter and very crisp. Palate is quite full for the style- carbonation is minimum so mouthfeel is very smooth. Finishes crisp and dry. Very surprised at the quality of this one. craftycarl21 (560), South Hero, Vermont, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 6, 2009 pours a hazy orange/copper with a small white head. Aroma is quite yeasty, but a darker, more ominous tone to the yeast aspect than I expected. Also citrus, spice, and some hops. The flavor is intiguing, but not my favorite- again the yeast and citrus notes, but there’s a definite character of grass, hay, and spice that I don’t particularly care for. Palate is pretty light, but decent considering the light style. Good brew, but not great. ben4321 (1036), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Aroma: Citrus, yeast, spices, sweet fruits, earth
Appearance: Hazy copper color, medium off-white head
Flavor: A decent balance: spice sweetness, malts, and a touch of hop bitterness
Palate: Light, drinkable
Overall Impression:
Kind of like a spiced up version of a standard Belgian Blonde. A nice adjustment to a style I don’t usually like all that much, but this one works decently well. emacgee (1891), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

The nose is earthy, some funky, yeasty, sweet, mildly spicy, some corn. Flavor is yeasty and earthy, crisp, some corn, spices show up but are indistinguishable. Crisp, easy to drink. Nice for sessioning. ucusty (1900), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 4, 2009 Classic Belgian ale aroma. Flavor is light with subtle spice in the background. Very easy drinking. Lighter, sessionable Belgian styles don’t get alot of props around here; kudos to Smuttynose for making one that works.
