| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 18, 2009 A hazy blonde ale with a thin white head. In aroma, pleasant cloves and bananas wit. In mouth, a nice ale with light bananas, cloves, refreshing, medium bodied, closer to a wit. Bottle at Mondiale 2009. Aurelius (2651), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jul 17, 2009 Definite doggy smell. Bad label with the trashy looking mermaid, light pine color, medium foggy, thin white head. Dry, tart, bitter, moderate fruitiness, biscuity. Tastes a lot better than it smells. Lingering spicy aftertaste, medium-light body. Nothing special. Market Square Liquors. changeup45 (792), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 14, 2009 Bottle. Pours a golden color with a touch of amber, two finger white head, with some decent retention. Aroma is floral and fruity, some spice, and malt. This doesn’t at all taste like a Belgian, but I’m fine with that because it drinks exactly as advertised, a good session beer. Apricot and peachy fruits, some complimenting spice, as well as grainy notes. Not too sweet, nothing at all bad about this beer, very solid. Some subpar scores are surprising. Thumbs up to Smutty for this refreshing session! CamdenD (606), Madrid, Spain
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 14, 2009 Very crisp, non-standard, version of a drinker. This is well done and does not suffer from oversweetness. I do not understand the substandard scores here, not sure what people think is "Belgian-like" -- but this brew has nice backbone and bite that one expects from a spiced Belgian offering. Nicely done. malrubius (1000), Valley Stream, New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 13, 2009 12 ounce bottle in Grimbergen goblet. Golden orange with short-lasting flat head. Grassy sweet yeast aroma with a touch of spice. Sweet honey marmalade fruitiness with grainy slightly bitter gritty spicy finish. Medium body decent internal carbo. A blah example of a blah style. nick76 (2667), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 11, 2009 The aroma is is malty and only lightly sweet with yeast, biscuits, spices and corn. The appearance is golden with a small head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is smooth and right for the style. Overall it’s not a bad beer but it’s not very Belgian like. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 9, 2009 Beautiful beer, excellent froth, especially with some adjutation. The nose leans towards fruit, honeyed malt and a touch of golden date. Oddly it does have a rough husky character. Sweetness is up front but the grain rounds out a polished and spicy palate. Texture is a very sexy, not overcarbonated but not limp and flat as many American examples can be. Agreed, it could be a little drier with more in the way of hop flowers rather than spice additions. However, on it’s own, delicious and clean. Made for grilled chicken. Points given for quaffability; 87 omhper (12236), Stockholm, Sweden
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 8/20 | Jul 9, 2009 Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Hazy golden, brief head. Orangey nose. Sweet and light bodied with clean hard mouthfeel. Very primitive malt character - the sharpness makes it tough to drink. Highly metallic with notes of orange and tin.
