Aromas have a bit of spice and topsoil with a little bit of cat pee or something a little off. Flavor certainly has a nice edge of spices... fennel, sage and coriander come to mind, but I’m not exactly an encyclopedia on the subject. A little bit of a honey sweet maltiness weaves its way through the spices. This is a little watery and not very interesting. It’s not bad, just not compelling.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 11, 2009 I think I may have held onto this one a bit too long. Picked it up during a big haul 6 or 7 months ago and forgot I had it. Here goes nothing. Best before September 2009. Pours lightly hazed gold with a thin and quickly dissipating head. Smells of overripe banana, faint spicing, faint grass. The flavor is vegetal with a touch of herbalness to it. The palate is crisp and refreshing. Finishes quite weak. As soon as the beer leaves your tongue so does any flavor. I didn’t really care for it but I will give it a few extra points due to my tardiness in drinking it. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 1/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 10, 2009 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy golden-amber color with a small white head that faded quickly. The aroma was tangy, sweetish and a touch earthy with faint dry spices. The flavor was tart, bitter and a bit dry with light citrus and a hint of musty spice. Dryish citric and musty finish. Medium body. Struck me as a decent belgian wit. Solid. dmac (1488), Toms River, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Dec 9, 2009 12 oz bottle. Poured a muddy orange amber with a smaller white frothy head. Aroma of citrus rind, lemon, uncooked dough, wet bread and slight spice. Flavor is one dimensional focusing on grainy doughy malts with cheap citrus malts towards the end. Pretty lousy attempt from Smuttynose on this one. beernovice39 (287), South Carolina, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Bottle from lilbeerdoctor. Thanks! Soft spice on the nose, dusty notes, grainy malt, a little soft pepper. Pours light golden, thin foam on top. Light spice - not sure what though - hard to identify. Grains of paradise? Somewhat similar to a Sam Adams Summer. Light grainy malts, a touch of hops and a more light spice in the finish. Unspectacular, but drinkable I guess. Arayaga2 (976), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 2, 2009 Hazy orange yellow with a bit of white head. Aroma is minimal but sweet with the tiniest bit of strawberry, wet dog, and vanilla. Taste is also less than substantial, amounting to carbonated wetness with the faintest trace of malt, and the infinitesimal vapors of spiced fruit and sour metal shavings. $2/12 kimcgolf (832), Dacula, Georgia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 1, 2009 Poured from the bottle to an carbonated golden orange with medium thick off-white head that lingered well and left okay lacing. Nose was citrus hops (oranges and lemons mostly), some apple and a hint of various spices. Mouthfeel was medium bodied and tingly, and the taste picked up the spices of the nose nicely, and to a lesser degere, the hoppy citrus, with just a hint of malty sweetness. insih was full, long lasting and pleasant.
A decent offering from Smutty.
