Aroma is resin/pink grapefruit zest hops, secondary somewhat sweet medium malt. Taste is sweet (simcoe/Amarillo & saaz) resin/pink grapefruit zest hops, secondary somewhat sweet medium malt, some coriander/herbal/pepper, yeast, alcohol. Seems like a Belgian SA. Nice effort for a Belgian style by an American brewer.
goldtwins (3732), Nesconset, New York, USA Jun 5, 2008 Draft @ Mugs Alehouse. Poured a hazed orange-amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was sweat and fruity with notes of oranges and bananas. Sweet malt base. The flavor had notes of toasted malt, sugar and fruit. Some spice. Medium bodied with a mild bitterness and light alcohol bite. argo0 (6176), Washington DC, USA May 18, 2008 (draft, vintage 2007) Small off-white ehad atop hazy golden body. roma is medium sweet, grapefruit, some spiciness, pineapple, honey. Taste is moderately sweet, orange/grapefruit, spice, some alcohol. Medium-full body, some stickiness. RblWthACoz (959), Brooklyn, New York, USA Feb 5, 2008 Pours nicely. No head. Mild nose. Nice tangy profile mixed with a mild dough edge. Full and consistent ride. Smooth feel. A very good American interpretation of this style. Had this and many others at Mugs Belgian shindig and this was clearly the winner for me.
