oneartisan (2), USA does not count Dec 2, 2003 Without getting to technical, this is one of the best beers I have ever tasted. The balanced residual sweetness is excellent as is the hop character. The high alcohol content was not noticeable to me. A simple description for a great bock. Ernest (4481), Boulder, Colorado, USA Mar 27, 2003 Draught.
Body is dark orange-brown.
Aroma is
lightly malty (caramel),
lightly hoppy (grapefruit),
moderately yeasty (dough),
with notes of brown sugar and diacetyl, light note of alcohol.
Flavor is
moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is
lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Pretty good flavor balance for the style, but the aroma has some problems.
