nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA Feb 17, 2009 On tap at Toronado for Barleywine fest ’09. Copper color with a tan head. Aroma is malty with some hoppiness. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, light fruits, solid hop bitterness, and alcohol. Medium-full body. scooterbub (332), Lander, Wyoming, USA Dec 26, 2008 On tap at the Lander Bar in Lander, Wy. Pours a cloudy amber-brown with a decent beige head. Taste is sweet, of malt, caramel, fruit/citrus and has a decent bitterness to it. Aroma is much the same. Pretty easy to drink and rather satisfying. Would be the best beer on tap at the Lander Bar if it was not for the short glass they serve it in. CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Dec 16, 2007 On tap at the 2007 GABF: Clear copper with a nicely-lacing light tan head. Aroma of sweet, complex caramel malt with some light fruity esters. Body is fairly full and sweet but has a warming alcoholic finish. Otherwise has decent complexity. Needs some time to age perhaps. goldtwins (4078), Nesconset, New York, USA Oct 30, 2007 GABF 2007: Poured a hazy amber color with a medium sized off-white head. The aroma had some light fruit. A little sweet. The flavor starts with some sweetness but has a dry finish. Citrusy middle. Mildly bitter on the finish. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Oct 21, 2007 Date: 10/13/2007

ratman197 (3139), Arvada, Colorado, USA Apr 7, 2007 On tap @ 5th Annual Boulder Strong Ale Fest poured a clear garnet with a large lasting amber head. Aromas of dark malt, dark fruit and light mollasses. Palate was medium bodied and dry. Flavors of black malt, dry dark fruits and a hint of coffee with a dry bitter finish. drewbeerme (2224), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 7, 2007 sampled on tap at the 5th Boulder Strong Ale Fest. my notes are short on this one. it says an american style BW but this lacked the hops to make that claim. very malty, nutty, and cookie. just a decent bw.
